This year, the Algiers Point Association is partnering with Algiers Economic Development Foundation to bring you the “FREE” 6-week concert series.
CHANGE OF SEASONS
We are hoping that by moving the festival from mid-summer to the fall, we can avoid (a) the heat; (b) the rain; (c) the rising river, giving everyone a far more enjoyable festival experience.
SUPPORT WEDNESDAYS ON THE POINT
This concert almost didn’t happen. Not only did we lose our top sponsor (1st NBC Bank) but the City of New Orleans is no longer waiving concert fees for nonprofits. This leaves us with a major deficit which needs to be replaced with sponsorship, vendor fees, and/or beverage sales OR NEXT YEAR THERE WILL BE NO CONCERT!
The concert’s free
The band is not
Helps a Lot
The AEDF/APA are counting on YOU to help pay the bills for all the fees associated with a “free” concert: The talent, the sound system, the cleanup, the EMS, the permits. If these expenses are not met, this may very well be the last of this beloved neighborhood concert series.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
If your company would like to help sponsor Wednesdays on the Point and be rewarded in not only good will but cross promotion on banners, social media, website, recognition from the stage and access to the Sponsor’s Tent, please email Fay Faron.
HAVE A PARTY WITHIN A PARTY
Rent a tent on a weekly ($100) or for the entire concert ($500) and you and yours can have your own shade, table and starter beverages. Email Fay Faron for details.
We cannot emphasize the importance of buying beverages and food from the Wednesdays on the Point concert. This is a major revenue source and unless the public steps up, the “free” concert is in jeopardy.
