Paul Collins is a national Healthcare Information Technology Consultant assisting healthcare organizations with EMR Conversions. He received his B.S. in Accounting from Southern University. Mr. Collins began his professional career as a management trainee at Whitney National Bank in 1996 before eventually becoming a business banker in the Greater New Orleans Area. After his seven-year career as a commercial lender Mr. Collins founded real estate investment and real estate development firms specializing in community improvement across Southeast Louisiana. After Hurricane Katrina he returned to New Orleans in October of 2005 and assisted the recovery effort providing fiscal management services to the local non-profit industry. He co-founded Collins CPA, Accounting and Consulting Services in 2007 specializing in providing Accounting, Auditing, Fiscal Management Consulting, Information Technology and Tax Services serving both profit and non-profit entities nationally. In 2008, he returned to the financial industry when he accepted a position with Seedco Financial – a national Community Development Financial Institution. Most notably, Mr. Collins managed Seedco’s involvement in Phase 2 of the State of Louisiana’s Business Recovery Grant and Loan Program, the Baton Rouge Small Business Loan Program and the Southeast Louisiana Fisheries Assistance Center. These efforts assisted small businesses and organizations in New Orleans and the surrounding parishes in recovering from the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the BP Oil Spill by providing over twelve million dollars in financial assistance and specialized technical assistance in the aftermath of the crisis. He currently resides in the Algiers section of New Orleans with his wife LaKenya, daughter Taylor and son Paul II.
