Joseph F. Toomy was appointed to the ADD Board in 2014 by Mayor Landrieu. He received a B. A. in Economics and Masters in Business Administration from Tulane University. He served from 1981 to 2000 in numerous capacities with Delgado Community College, including as Vice Chancellor of Administrative Affairs. Since 2000, Mr. Toomy has worked as an independent insurance broker based in Gretna, LA. He serves as Lead Independent Director at First NBC Holding Company and First NBC Bank.
Mr. Toomy served as a member of the LA House of Representatives for District 85 from 1984 to 2008. In 2009, he was appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans by Governor Jindal. From 2009 to 2014 he served in various Board capacities, including Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Toomy is a member of the Board of Catholic Charities of New Orleans and Chairman of PACE Greater New Orleans. He, also, serves as Chairman of Gretna-REDI.
